In September of 2018, I walked the streets of downtown Worcester, MA. with the intention of meeting and photographing strangers. I wanted to understand their relationship to the city, in hopes it would make my own more clear. To make sense of these unpredictable connections, I took portraits of those that I met.

As a student at Clark University, I needed to make these pictures. Not only to familiarize myself with those who have lived in Worcester their whole lives, but to discover my role in their community. In what began as an effort to preserve my own curiosity and find personal meaning, I’ve created a body of work that feels a part of something much bigger.
